The Danube bend is one of the most diverse parts of Hungary: the town of Nagymaros lies between river Danube and the mountains of Börzsöny and a perfect place to start your discovery of the area. Our cabin is situated at the edge of the town, only a stone’s throw away from the forest, so it can be a great spot to start an excursion to the mountains, nevertheless it doesn’t take too much time to walk down to the river.
Cooler season offer you a quiet getaway, while the warmer months provide lively days-besides the sights you can choose among many programs if you come here! Discover any corners of the Danube bend that you have never seen before, and relax in our cabin afterwards!

Getting there
The town of Nagymaros can be found on the left of river Danube, lies under the mountains of Börzsöny, opposite Visegrád and its castle.
You can travel to Nagymaros by train: there is a train every hour departing from Western Railway Station in Budapest. If you arrive by train it takes around 50 minutes to reach Nagymaros and you have to get off at Nagymaros-Visegrád. You can reach Chestnut guesthouse on foot with a twenty-minute-long walk from the train station.
If you arrive by car the easiest way to come from Budapest is to drive on the 2/A road, then take a turn to road 12 at Vác.
